Each County in California issues Public and Confidential Marriage Licenses however, each County may have different rules on how to obtain. Please check with your local County Clerk for this information.
Tip 1: There are rules in obtaining and using a Confidential Marriage License. In general, you may only use a Confidential Marriage license from the County where the marriage ceremony takes place. (Exp: A Confidential Marriage license issued in San Diego County is only valid for a wedding ceremony in San Diego County)
Tip 2: San Diego is still the least expensive County to obtain a Marriage License.
